Are you already stretching? Find your exact size, to the unit, without paying again for everything you've already exceeded.
Stop forcing your ears and let gravity do the work.
Forcibly screwed-in steel spirals, tapers pushed in with gritted teeth, silicone that compresses and irritates... you've probably tried one of these methods before. They all have one thing in common: they force your lobe instead of letting it adapt. The result is suffering tissue, uneven stretching, and sometimes tears.
The dead stretch works in reverse. You wear a slightly larger plug, let the weight and time do their work, and your lobe extends on its own, gently. Zero force. Zero pain if done at the right pace.
Why glass, and only glass
Glass is the smoothest material available for this method. Unlike steel or silicone, its surface doesn't hold onto anything, doesn't irritate anything, and doesn't stick to the skin. It's this perfect glide that allows gravity to do its job without any friction.
How it works, in practice
You insert your plug, slightly larger than your current size. You leave it in place. The weight of the glass, combined with the natural warmth of your ear, gradually relaxes the tissue – no brutal pulling, no forcibly twisted spiral. When the plug slides in on its own, effortlessly, without discomfort, you know your lobe is ready for the next size.
The only true principle to respect
Never two sizes at once. Never any pain; a slight tension, yes, but not pain. If it pulls too much, go back to the previous size and allow more time. Your body dictates the pace, not a desire to rush.

I know that right now you're looking at your spiral or your taper, and you're hesitating.
Stop right now.
No more hesitation.
We had fun trying to do it on the fly like we were 15. But we're old! Old! Anyway, we're all old!
We have to do things better. Why, you ask?
Because we're all afraid of ending up with an infected lobe, or worse...a torn lobe. It's ugly.
So, we take care of ourselves.
That's an order.
